Liz is a physiotherapist with a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, movement-based rehabilitation, and evidence-informed care. She graduated with First Class Honours, reflecting her passion for research, critical thinking, and high-quality clinical reasoning.
Liz brings a broad depth of professional and life experience to her practice. She was previously a professional ballet dancer, which fostered a deep understanding of movement quality, biomechanics, and the physical and psychological demands placed on the body. Alongside her dance career, Liz qualified as a yoga instructor and personal trainer. Through this work, she found she was naturally drawn to, and frequently sought out by, people with previous injuries.
Working with this population, and informed by her own extensive injury history, Liz became increasingly fascinated by understanding why injuries occur, how movement patterns, load, and context contribute to them, and how to address their root causes rather than just symptoms. This curiosity ultimately led her to pursue physiotherapy.
Clinically, Liz enjoys working with both acute and chronic presentations, particularly conditions involving the lower back, pelvis, and lower extremities, as well as with persistent pain conditions. She has a strong focus on individualised exercise prescription, movement confidence, and helping people feel safe, capable, and empowered in their bodies again.
Liz values open communication and collaborative care, and believes the best outcomes occur when patients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their rehabilitation.
Liz is available at the Deakin clinic.
